Trainee Licence

TRAINEE LICENCE

A Trainee Licence allows you to teach pupils while you are still training and is valid for 6 months. The licence is a valuable learning tool to help you pass the Part 3 examination.

The Driving Standards Agency stipulate that you must be supported by a Driving School as a Trainee Instructor, and that you must receive a minimum of 40 hours training before you will be allowed to teach pupils. During the first 12 weeks of your Trainee Licence you must complete a further 20 hours of Part 3 training. This must be completed before you can take the Part 3 examination.

You will be supported throughout this 6 month period by your personal tutor, who will guide and advise you. At this stage of your training you will be invited to attend Team Meetings with Beverly Slater School of Motoring Trainees dealing with relevant topics such as how to retain pupils, organising your diary, dealing with a driving test and the general running of your business.
