Automatic Driving Lessons
So why would I learn to drive in an automatic?
- Easier to learn than in a manual car
- Stop, start and steering are easier
- No clutch – the gears change automatically
- No stalling at junctions, traffic lights or on hills
- Less tiring to drive in heavy traffic
- Roundabouts easier to negotiate
- General manoeuvres are easier
Who are automatics particularly suitable for?
- Popular with learners who struggle with gear selection and the clutch in a manual car
- Popular with mature learners
- Popular with International Licence holders unfamiliar with right-hand drive
- Ideal for people looking to learn quickly (but remember if you pass your test in an automatic car and want to drive a manual car, you will have to pass another practical test)
- Takes fewer lessons to pass your test than in a manual car
